Anshul M. Rao MD
Anshul M. Rao, MD, rheumatologist, is seeing adult patients at offices in the Medical Arts Pavilion on the campus of Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield, and at the Johnston Professional Plaza on the campus of Johnston Medical Center-Clayton. Rao is a graduate of the University of Toledo Medical College. In 2012, he completed a fellowship in rheumatology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and, in 2009, an internal medicine residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Before coming to work with Johnston Health, Dr. Rao was in practice for a year with Wayne Heart and Internal Medicine in Goldsboro. With the move to Johnston County, he says he looks forward to getting more involved in the community where he lives. Rao says he likes that the field of rheumatology has changed so dramatically.
Specialists like Dr. Rao are committed to making like easier and more manageable for patients with bone and joint problems. While arthritis and other joint conditions remain a growing problem, the medications and treatments available to patients are constantly improving. By establishing healthy living habits and seeking treatment when it’s needed, many patients can prolong the onset of arthritis symptoms and still live a full and functional life.
