Women’s Pavilion- Smithfield

The Women’s Pavilion at Johnston Health Smithfield is designed to provide care and comfort to women and their families as they experience the birth of their child.

For your convenience, the Women’s Pavilion has a separate entrance and a dedicated driveway off North Street. A green awning covers the entry, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp is close by. When you need to be seen, you may check in at the registration desk inside the department.

Function, comfort and style

The Women’s Pavilion has five labor and delivery suites, 16 postpartum rooms, and 17 nursery beds. In a newly decorated reception area, family members and friends can wait in comfort and see the newborns through a nursery window. Original works of art are a special feature of the Women’s Pavilion. Local artists have crafted rag dolls, and clay and wood sculptures for the reception area. And stained glass adorns unique window valances in all the patient rooms.

Each room in the Women’s Pavilion is equipped with a TV, telephone and private bathroom. We provide complimentary apples to all visitors, and the hospital cafeteria is close by for meals.

There is a separate entrance for the Women’s Center conveniently located at the back of the hospital. This covered entry is wheelchair accessible with parking close by. When you arrive, you may check in at the registration desk located right inside the department.

Function, comfort, and style

The Women’s Center delivery rooms are designed to double as recovery rooms, which also has special accommodations for the newborn. The patient rooms in the Women’s Center are designed to give mothers and their families the best possible birthing experience. A nursery is also available for friends and family members to get a glimpse of the baby.

In addition to the 32-inch flat screen TVs, the rooms have iPod connections with speakers so that moms can listen to the music of their choice. For the comfort of overnight guests, all of the L&D suites have pull-down beds, private bathroom and room service. Our beautiful cafeteria is available for meals or snacks and the gift shop is also open for a variety of gifts or needs.
