Johnston Health’s Cardiac Cath Lab is equipped with machines that take high-tech images of a patient’s arteries and chambers of the heart to check for any abnormalities or blockages. We are proud to now offer PCIs as part of our interventional services.
PCI stands for percutaneous coronary intervention. In PCI, a long, thin tube is threaded through a patient’s blood vessels to image the heart. If needed, doctor’s can perform other procedures such as stenting and angioplasty to open narrowed or blocked arteries to restore blood flow to the heart and ultimately prevent heart attacks.
With heart disease being the leading cause of death in Johnston County, we are happy to be able to provide quality cardiac services to our community.
