Patient and Visitor Services
Our goal is to ensure patients and their families are as comfortable as possible throughout their treatment.
Each patient has the right to expect absolute privacy regarding hospitalization and any aspect of the patient’s care. No one will be given information about the patient without the patient’s permission. Personal health information will be guarded carefully according to law.
Patients have the opportunity to attended Spiritual Services on Sundays, as well as weekly Spiritual Group facilitated by hospital chaplains. Patients may request a consult to talk individually with a hospital chaplain.
In general, it is a good idea to ask in advance whether the patient wishes to see a particular visitor. Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM; on weekends, and holidays from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Visiting will be supportive to our patients. Staff may terminate non-therapeutic visits.
- Visitors must be age 18 or older.
- Each patient may have up to two visitors at a time.
- Visitors must present ID and sign in.
- Visitors may not bring anything on the unit.
- Visitors must respect confidentiality.
- Visiting exceptions are at the discretion of the psychiatrist.
Patients have access to two telephones where they may call local numbers only. Family members may call (919) 934-8171 extension 6130 or 6408 to speak to patients. Phone calls can be made or received between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Phone calls are limited to 10 minutes to ensure that everyone has time to make calls.
Phones will be turned off during groups and turned back on at the conclusion of each group.
