Henry Edmundson, MD, Mental Health Director
Dr. Henry Edmundson has been the medical director of both Johnston County Mental Health and the behavioral health services department at Johnston Health since January 2015. He was promoted to the position after working a year and a half as a staff psychiatrist at the county’s mental health agency.
Henry Edmundson, MD is a graduate of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He completed his residency in general psychiatry at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is board certified in general adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Shelly Malone, RN-BC, NE-BC, Clinical Program Director
Shelly Malone, RN-BC, NE-BC, earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University, Kaneohe, Hawaii. She also earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with minors in Chemistry and Biology from Eastern Oregon University, La Grande, Oregon. She is currently working on her Master’s of Nursing degree at Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah. She has held various leadership positions as a nurse in behavioral health programs across the country. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. She works towards exceeding safety and performance standards by focusing on patient satisfaction and safety, as well as staff team building and professional development.
