Checking blood pressure gets more accessible to all
Johnston Health is collaborating with the Johnston County Public Health Department to place blood pressure monitoring stations in public libraries across the county. The first is at the Library of Johnston County & Smith-field.
The health department is tapping a grant from its Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Stroke Prevention Project, Region 7, to pay for the blood pressure cuffs.
Pictured from left are Leah Johnson, corporate and community outreach coordinator for Johnston Health, and Margaret Marshall, director of the library. Johnson has also placed a blood pressure station inside the Johnston Medical Mall.
