Youth Fitness

HealthQuest offers exercise programs designed specifically for children and teens to keep them active and healthy. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that all children have at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day, but many children are not getting this. The goal of our youth fitness programs is to create an environment where youth can come to receive exercise instruction under the direction of degreed and certified teachers outside of the school setting.

Healthy Kids Program

The Healthy Kids Program is a 12-week health education program designed to teach youth, age 9-18, nutrition and fitness practices for their overall health. The program includes an initial orientation/assessment, 36 group exercise sessions with a personal trainer, three group nutritional education sessions with a dietitian, a post-program assessment and graduation certificate. Exercise sessions will be split into age groups as indicated in the youth fitness classes above.

The fees are $200 for members and $225 for non-members. Scholarships are available through the Healthy Kids Fund and are awarded based on financial hardship and youth risk factors.

Healthy Kids Graduate Program

The Healthy Kids Graduate Program is a 12-week self-motivated program for any child 12 years or older who has recently completed the Healthy Kids Program.

This program includes:

  • 3 months membership to the facility
  • 12 weeks of prescribed workouts by Frankie Benavidez
  • an individualized pre/post assessment

The fees are $149 for members and $169 for non-members. Scholarships available.

Healthy Kids Participate in Johnston Health Champions 5K/10K Walk/Run

Part of the funds raised at this years Johnston Health Champions 5K will go towards the Healthy Kids program, a program held through HealthQuest that teaches healthful nutrition and exercise habits to children who are at-risk for poor health. We were excited to have some of those children walk and run during the race! Great job to all those who participated. We are so proud of you!

Youth Fitness Classes

Junior Fit
Junior Fit is for ages 9-12 and is designed to introduce youth to stretching routines, exercise equipment, proper techniques, balanced workouts, and an overall knowledge of fitness.

5 – 5:45 p.m.

Teen Fit
Teen Fit is for ages 12-18 and features timed challenges, workout stations, and the use of both conventional and non-conventional equipment.

Non-Member $45 $55

Sessions begin the first Monday of each month. Each session is one month long with two 45-minute classes per week. Siblings will receive a 10% discount on multiple sessions purchased.
