The holidays can be a hard time for anyone who has lost a loved one, especially children. Courage Through the Holidays is a bereavement workshop for children ages 6 to 16 who have experienced the death of someone they love such as a parent, grandparent or friend. The workshop provides a supportive and safe environment for them to share their feelings with one another.

Through expressive art activities, games, music and much more, campers have opportunities to:

  • Identify and express feelings
  • Remember and share memories
  • Understand of the nature of grief
  • Learn how to maintain a healthy connection to lost loved ones
  • Learn coping strategies specific to the holiday season

Family Time

If you’re a parent or guardian, please join us at 1:30 p.m. on the day of the workshop to learn about the day’s activities and to participate in a time of remembrance.

Staff and Volunteers

Our staff is made up of social workers, bereavement counselors, chaplains, nurses and volunteers who have training and experience in working with children who have lost loved ones.
