Courage Through the Holidays
The holidays can be a hard time for anyone who has lost a loved one, especially children. Courage Through the Holidays is a bereavement workshop for children ages 6 to 16 who have experienced the death of someone they love such as a parent, grandparent or friend. The workshop provides a supportive and safe environment for them to share their feelings with one another.
Through expressive art activities, games, music and much more, campers have opportunities to:
- Identify and express feelings
- Remember and share memories
- Understand of the nature of grief
- Learn how to maintain a healthy connection to lost loved ones
- Learn coping strategies specific to the holiday season
If you’re a parent or guardian, please join us at 1:30 p.m. on the day of the workshop to learn about the day’s activities and to participate in a time of remembrance.
