New-Graduate Nurse Transition Program
Ease the transition from nursing school to professional practice. During your onboarding process at UNC Health Johnston, you’ll take part in classes for newly graduated registered nurses (RNs).

Transition Course Topics
During your first three months of orientation at UNC Health Johnston, nurse educators and other professionals will guide you through coursework in a variety of topics. Areas of focus change each year, but have included:
- Conflict resolution
- Crisis prevention
- Delegation
- Documentation
- Medical emergency response
- Professional development
- Self-care
- Specific disease concentrations
- Time management
Continuing Education credit is awarded through the program and assigned learner reading to assist with the renewal process at the end of your first license period.
