Charlotte Davis' Robotic Surgery Story

Charlotte Davis of Smithfield recently underwent gall bladder surgery and Johnston Health. Her surgery was done with our daVinci robotic surgery unit. Here is what Charlotte has to say about her experience with Johnston Health.

“Having experienced a heart attack some time ago I was naturally sensitive to any kind of pain in a series of gall bladder attacks, that mimicked the pain I felt with the heart attack were really traumatic for me. After my fifth gall bladder episode my family doctor told me it was time to have this thing out! He referred me to a surgeon who recommended that I have the procedure done locally at Johnston Health using their daVinci Robotic Surgery unit. He had Johnston Health contact me to schedule the surgery. It was done on Thursday so I would have Friday as well as the weekend to recover, but I had arranged to be out of work on Monday as well.”

“The surgery went perfectly. I did exactly what my surgeon told me to do and he released me the next week. I didn’t even need to miss work on Monday. I had no pain and no recovery issues. It was the easiest surgical procedure I can imagine – I don’t even have a red mark! And to top it all off – no more gall bladder issues! Had I known this would go so well I would have pursued having it done earlier.”
