Our Mission is to improve the health of the people in our communities.

One of the ways we’re meeting our mission is by listening to people   like you. You told us that residents of Johnston County need more doctors. We’ve responded by recruiting highly qualified surgeons and specialists to our medical staff. And more are on the way.

To keep pace with the health care needs of our population, we’ve transformed from a single campus into a countywide health care system called Johnston Health. It includes Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield, Johnston Medical Associates, which are outlying medical practices in Kenly and Clayton and Johnston Medical Center-Clayton, an emergency care and outpatient center.

In all, we invested $144 million in new equipment and buildings, including the new five-story patient tower in Smithfield and the medical center in Clayton.

In keeping with our mission to improve your health, we no longer allow smoking or the use of any tobacco products on our campus. The ban on tobacco use at hospital campuses is a nationwide trend that Johnston Health wholeheartedly supports.

While you are with us, we want you to feel comfortable and right at home. And we promise to do everything we can to return you to good health.
