Men over 40 – listen up! It’s that time of the year again. Johnston Health’s Annual Prostate Screening is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Urology specialists Dr. Mohamed and Dr. Lippitt conduct the screenings. For the $15 fee, you will receive an exam as well as PSA blood work.
Screening for prostate cancer has cut mortality rates by about half. Men are recommended to have baseline screenings beginning at age 40. And, since prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for men in the United States, early detection is key.
The screenings will be held in the Johnston Health Medical Arts Pavilion right next to Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield. To schedule an appointment, call the Johnston Health Education Dept. at 938-7736.
