SECU Hospice House
The SECU Hospice House opened in April of 2010. A capital campaign by the Johnston Health Foundation raised $4.5 million to build and equip the 18-bed hospice care center for the terminally ill. It is located on Hospital Road a short distance from Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield and is named for the State Employees Credit Union.
The Hospice House is designed to look and feel like home. A full-service kitchen, dining and living room areas and outside patios give families a place to relax, gather with friends, and share a meal. An interfaith chapel and meditation gardens offer spaces for quiet reflection. Each patient room has a sleeper sofa to allow friends and family to spend the night with their loved one. We strive to make each patient’s stay as comfortable as possible for them and their families.
