JH Employees Ring in the Holidays

The holidays are a time where you’ll find Johnston Health decorated with a variety of trees, lights and decorations, along with smiling faces wishing you a happy holiday season. The holidays are also a time to show our appreciation to our employees and staff. We enjoyed spending this month getting our employees involved in a variety of fun events and challenges.

3-D Mammography Employee Challenge Recognition

We did it! Our amazing Johnston Health family, which includes the governing and foundation boards, exceeded the goal of $100,000 by raising $102,430 to go towards purchasing two 3-D mammography systems for Clayton and Smithfield.

To announce the success our Admin team dresses up as superheroes and participated in a humorous skit during our Employee Lunch and then spent the afternoon visiting different departments throughout our hospitals, thanking our staff for their participation in the campaign.

Holiday Employee Meal

Employees received a complimentary meal last week to thank them for all their hard work throughout the year and to wish them happy holidays. During the lunch meal, department directors and managers took the time to serve our employees and staff a variety of items from potatoes and collard greens to pork and pecan pie. It was a fun time for our staff to relax and enjoy the company of their co-workers.

“A Ton of Spirit” Food Drive & Box Decorating Contest

The goal for this year’s food drive was 2,000 pounds of food (which equaled approximately 1.5 pounds per employee). Our employees were given two weeks to bring in cans and non-perishable food items that would be delivered to the Salvation Army to be used in our local community. At the final weigh in, we were happy to announce that our staff brought in 2,044 pounds of food! The top five departments were Engineering, Early Learning Center, Human Resources, Sterile Processing and Education.

All of this food needed boxes for it to go in. There was a box decorating challenge given to our departments in both Clayton and Smithfield to come up with the most decorated and unique cardboard box display for their canned food to be put in. Looking at the entries, we have some wonderfully creative employees and the judges had a difficult time deciding which ones were best. The winner in Smithfield was Human Resources and the winner in Clayton was the OR. Thanks to all those who participated.

We’d like to thank all those who participated in this year’s events and thank our staff for all their hard work. We couldn’t do it without you. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday!

Enjoy photos from all the events. You can find more photos on our facebook page.
