5 Things You Didn’t Know About HealthQuest Wellness Center

Posted Jul 10, 2012 | Posted in Fitness & Nutrition

HealthQuest Wellness Center is much more than the average gym. As a medically affiliated facility, we make sure that our staff, programs and equipment are suited to every kind of lifestyle. It would be hard to list all of the qualities that make the Wellness Center such a great community, so we’ve pared the list down to five things you may not already know about HealthQuest.

1. We’ve Got it All!

HealthQuest Wellness Center is 35,000 square feet of resources you can use to stay active and get fit. If you love to swim, you’ll relish your time in our five-lane indoor lap pool. When you’re done, hop into the warm therapeutic pool or the whirlpool to relax and soothe your muscles. Get changed in our spacious locker rooms, which also have showers and steam rooms. If you prefer to stay dry, bring a friend for a game in our racquetball courts or the outdoor basketball court.  For traditional gym buffs, we have plenty of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, benches, mats and strength training machines to choose from. When you join, you receive a free health assessment and training program, where we’ll teach you to use the equipment that best suits your skill level and goals.

2. We Offer Discounts!

When we say that you should invest in your health, we mean time, not money. HealthQuest Wellness Center frequently offers discounts on membership, personal training, massage services and more. Our most recent discounts included a Father’s Day Special, taking 25% off the regular price of massage therapy and personal training. We know that young adults often have extra time during the summer, so we offer a student special, where $70 covers all three summer months. Check ourwebsite throughout the year for other great offers and discounts, or subscribe to our newsletter for more information.

3. We Have a Swim Team

The HammerHeads Summer Swim Team is for anyone ages 5-18 who wants to improve his or her swimming ability while making new friends and being part of a wonderful team and community. You don’t have to be an Olympic swimmer; kids who can swim one length of the pool are eligible to join. Our professional, certified swim instructors are adept at teaching all skill levels, from weak swimmers to high school experts. We practice at HealthQuest, and the HammerHeads participate in meets at pools all around Johnston County.

4. We Have Group Fitness Classes

Getting in shape or maintaining your health doesn’t have to be something you do alone. At HealthQuest, we recognize the motivational benefits of surrounding yourself with people who have similar goals. We offer an average of 10 classes a day during the week, as well as some Saturday classes. Our staff has all the degrees or certifications necessary to provide you with a professional, thorough workout, and the classes are included in your membership fee. In addition to the traditional pilates, yoga and spinning classes, we also have aquacise, line dancing and even extreme boot camps! Check ourwebsite for class schedules.

5. We Offer Cooking Classes, Lectures, and Demonstrations

Health isn’t just about fitness. You also have to watch what you eat. That’s why we bring in a registered dietitian to teach you tips and tricks for delicious, healthy meals that are easy for chefs of all levels to prepare. Recent classes have featured low-fat foods, low-sodium foods and healthy on-the-go snacks. Our facility has a large kitchen and classroom dedicated to food health. Call our front desk at 919-938-7581 to learn more about upcoming demonstrations and events.

Hopefully this article has given you some insight into the many services we offer here at HealthQuest. If you’ve been thinking about joining a gym, consider joining HealthQuest. It’s so much more than a gym. It’s a way of life.
